EL tráfico mundial se libra de otro gran incidente en el canal.

Nuevamente otro buque varó en el CANAL DE SUEZ: el buque se reflotó con éxito después de bloquear temporalmente el Canal; seis meses después de la varada del buque portacontenedores EVER GIVEN en marzo.

El ‘Coral Crystal’ sufrió un problema en su máquina mientras transitaba por el Canal de Suez en dirección sur, en ruta de Constanza (Rumania) a Port Sudan, con 43.000 toneladas de carga el 9 de septiembre de 2021, a las 9.25 am cerca del kilómetro 54, próximo al tramo dual.

El buque varó brevemente, pero fue reflotado rápidamente después de 15 minutos por remolcadores SCA, continuando el tránsito hacia Great Bitter Lake a las 13:00. Afortunadamente, el tráfico no se vio afectado por el incidente.

El incidente trajo a la memoria lo ocurrido en marzo, cuando el “Ever Given” se quedó atravesado en el canal, bloqueando el tráfico durante casi una semana en una perturbación que conmovió a los mercados, y que costó decenas de miles de millones de dólares en retrasos en el comercio mundial. A raíz de dicha incidencia que, asociada a otras circunstancias coyunturales, la situación post pandémica, el colapso en terminales de contenedores asiáticos, la industria del transporte marítimo y, en particular, los exportadores e importadores han estado sujetos a fuertes aumentos en las tarifas de flete desde el tercer trimestre de 2020, aumentando de alrededor de $ 2.032 / 40 ′ en septiembre de 2020 a $ 10.519 / 40 ′ en septiembre de 2021.

Actualmente las navieras están tomando medidas para contrarrestar la situación y algunas han decidido suspender cualquier aumento en las tarifas de flete “spot”

As a result of this incidence that, related with the world economic events, the post-pandemic situation, the collapse in Asian container terminals, the maritime transport industry (shippers, traders, etc) have been affected by the increases in the tariffs of freight from the third quarter of 2020, with cost increment from around $ 2,032 / 40 ′ in September 2020 to $ 10,519 / 40 ′ in September 2021.

Shipping companies are currently taking measures to revert the situation and some shipping lines have decided to stop any increase cost on spot freight rates.
