WAREHOUSE, YARD & TERMINAL SURVEYS
Control System Survey surveys warehouses, logistics buildings, port yards and terminals for logistics operators, shipping lines, terminals, owners and insurers: condition at handover and redelivery, risk assessment and damage investigation.
HANDOVER AND REDELIVERY CONDITION SURVEYS
When a facility changes hands (a yard granted by a port authority, a leased logistics building, a subcontracted warehouse or an area assigned to an operator), the condition in which it is received determines what can be claimed when it is handed back. Without an initial record, any deterioration found at the end is open to dispute.
Our handover condition survey includes:
- Division of the facility into sectors on the layout plan, by functional area and use
- General and detailed photographic record, with date, time and GPS position
- Measurement of representative pavement deformations and defects
- Condition of fencing, barriers, lighting, fenders and other fittings
- A report stating the scope and limitations of the survey
At redelivery we repeat the survey along the same route and from the same points, so that fair wear and tear can be separated from damage caused during the period of use.
WAREHOUSE AND TERMINAL RISK ASSESSMENT
Beyond recording the condition, we review the facility from a loss prevention perspective. A complete assessment considers, among others:
- Fire and flood
- Security and access control
- Storage and handling of dangerous goods
- Condition of pavements and structural elements under operating loads
- Risk of cargo damage and equipment failure
The result is a report with prioritised findings and recommendations for the operator and its insurers.
DAMAGE TO PORT FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT
When damage occurs at a terminal, a quay or to cargo handling equipment, we attend to record the incident, investigate its causes and responsibilities, assess the damage and provide technical assistance during repairs.
We work for port authorities, terminals, TT Club, P&I Clubs, insurers and shipping lines.
DRONE INSPECTIONS
On large surfaces, warehouse roofs and structures that are difficult to reach, we use drones to obtain an overall view and high-resolution images that complement the survey on foot.
